Kentucky Owl The Wiseman Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is a traditional rye whiskey crafted with a high proportion of rye in its mash bill (95% rye, 5% malted barley). This whiskey, the first permanent rye release under Master Blender John Rhea’s direction, is distilled at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky and aged for a minimum of four years in new, charred American oak barrels. It is bottled at 50.4% ABV (100.8 Proof). On the nose, it offers rich and spicy aromas with notes of fresh rye bread, sweet caramel, and cinnamon. On the palate, it presents a rich and spicy rye character, with a long finish that evolves from fresh rye bread towards buttered cinnamon toast, culminating in a subtle hint of English walnut.
