WARRE’S Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Porto is a high-quality fortified dessert wine produced by the renowned Port house Warre’s, founded in 1670, making it the first British Port company established in Portugal. Unlike most LBVs, Warre’s produces its LBV in a traditional way, maturing it in oak casks for approximately four years and then aging it in the bottle for another four years before release. This prolonged bottle aging gives it a style and complexity very similar to that of a Vintage Port, offering exceptional balance, structure, and elegance. It presents complex aromas of ripe black fruits, spicy notes, and floral hints. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with smooth tannins and a long, rewarding finish. It is often bottled unfiltered, allowing it to continue evolving in the bottle and may produce sediment, so decanting before serving is recommended.
