Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is an innovative bourbon that is matured twice in new, charred American white oak barrels. The first maturation is in standard new charred barrels like regular Woodford Reserve. The second maturation takes place in another new barrel that has been deeply toasted before receiving a light char. This additional process extracts extra amounts of soft, sweet oak character, providing a distinctive richness and complexity. On the nose, it offers rich notes of dark fruit, caramel, sharp honey, chocolate, marzipan, and toasted oak. On the palate, it presents a full-bodied mix of vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple, fruit, and spices.
