The difference lies in the fact that this “Barrel Pick” is individually selected by stores or groups, resulting in a unique flavor profile that may vary slightly from other bottles of Double Cask Rye. Generally, it offers intense aromas of caramel and vanilla, with hints of prunes, apricots, and rye spices. On the palate, notes of caramel and rye dominate, complemented by cinnamon, clove, mint, and butterscotch. The finish is long, warm, and slightly sweet.
